About Fremont Area Medical Center
Fremont Area Medical Center is a progressive 90-bed acute care hospital and owned by Dodge County.
As the only emergency department in Dodge County, 14,000 patients pass through our doors each year. Amazingly, our experienced team helps us average a door-to-physician time significantly below the national benchmark of 20 minutes. When needed, area ambulances and medical helicopters can transport patients to nearby trauma or burn centers.
Around the clock, 24-hour care is provided by board-certified physicians and highly skilled nurses. They are supported by full-time laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgical and intensive care services and have access to board-certified physicians in virtually every medical specialty.
The Emergency Department continues to exceed all patient safety standards as designated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and constantly receives high patient satisfaction scores. FAMC has four nurses with national specialized certification in emergency nursing.
The 2003 construction added space and significant features, such as:
- Designated trauma/critical care rooms
- Orthopaedics and obstetrical/gynecological care rooms
- Private treatment and triage rooms
- Enlarged waiting area
- Decontamination room for exposure to hazardous material
- High-tech monitoring capabilities
- Computed radiography imaging facilities for quick and accurate treatment
