Knox Community Hospital

Knox Community Hospital Logo

Located within the beauty of central Ohio’s farmland, Knox County offers the best of rural and small-town living with the convenience of larger urban centers nearby. In fact, Mount Vernon, the county seat, was selected as  “Best Hometown” for 2017-2018 by Ohio Magazine.

Knox County offers many attractions for visitors and locals alike. Mount Vernon's historic district features grand mansions and a vibrant downtown commerce center. The Kokosing Gap Trail begins in Mount Vernon and reveals majestic views of the Kokosing River Valley as it snakes its way to Danville along 14 miles of old railroad lines. The community also offers a wide variety of performing arts ranging from theater performances to community concerts. The soon-to-be-reopened Woodward Opera House on Main Street is America's oldest authentic 19th-century theater, and has been beautifully and faithfully restored to its original historic splendor.

Ariel-Foundation Park, also located in Mount Vernon, is an extraordinary 250-acre public park—an example of adaptive reuse, created on the former site of a glass-making factory. It offers architectural ruins, lakes, an observation tower, walking trails, steel sculptures, a museum, and connections to both the Kokosing Gap Trail and the Heart of Ohio Trail.
