North Country HealthCare
North Country HealthCare is a dynamic, non-profit Federally Qualified Community Health Center with a mission to provide accessible, affordable quality primary health care in an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. Our Flagstaff clinic is the home office with centralized billing, administration, human resources and finance departments. We support all of our access points from this our main and largest office.
North Country HealthCare's roots reach back to the Flagstaff Community Free Clinic, which was founded in 1991 by a group of local healthcare providers and administrators. Today, North Country HealthCare inhabits a beautiful 42,000 sq. ft building in Flagstaff and serves 14 communities and 24 access points across northern Arizona. The health and well-being of our patients and community alike are promoted through direct services, training/education, outreach, and advocacy.
Our preventative and wellness programs include: Well Woman HealthCheck, Maternal Child Health, Prenatal, and Health Start, HIV/AIDS, Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault, Radiation Exposure Screening & Education and Diabetes & Chronic Disease Management. In conjunction with these outreach programs, we offer Integrated Behavioral Health Services, clinical pharmacy services and telemedicine system-wide.
Located at the junction of two major U.S. interstates and served by a regional airport and a lively train depot, Flagstaff is a key destination for people from around the world seeking the adventure and natural beauty of the American West. Flagstaff offers great restaurants, numerous night spots, and a variety of cultural, art and scientific attractions such as Lowell Observatory. Visitors are attracted to our clean mountain air, year-round outdoor recreation opportunities and historic downtown charm. Some of the West's most beautiful country surrounds Flagstaff — from the ponderosa forests of our San Francisco Peaks (12,633 feet; 3,851 meters) to the rugged deserts of neighboring Native American nations. The Grand Canyon, Sedona, Monument Valley, Painted Desert and many national parks are within easy driving distance.
