Since it's beginning in 1983 Phoenix Children’s Hospital has provided hope, healing, and the best health care for children and families.
Today, Phoenix Children’s is one of the 10 largest freestanding children’s hospitals in the country and provides specialty and sub-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care to patients from throughout Arizona and other Southwestern states.
Phoenix Children’s is located in the fifth largest metropolitan region in the country in one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Phoenix Children’s completed a major expansion in 2011 that made the Hospital the third-largest pediatric freestanding facility in the United States and is rapidly growing its national reputation as a provider of top specialty and subspecialty clinical care.
Phoenix Children’s more than 45 subspecialty fields of pediatric medicine and, most recently, has focused the development of its medical programs to build Centers of Excellence in neonatology, hematology/oncology, neurosciences, cardiac services, and orthopedics. Most recently the Hospital was designated as Arizona’s only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
Phoenix is growing exponentially, and along with it, so is the need for highly specialized pediatric health care. That’s why Phoenix Children’s embarked on a $538 million expansion that increased our services, staff, and locations – and, ultimately, the number of children we serve.
The Hospital, which opened in 2011, features private patient rooms, expanded diagnostic and treatment facilities, state-of-the-art surgical suites, and ample parking. Phoenix Children’s boasts 465 licensed pediatric beds. But most importantly, we’ve added more of the best pediatric doctors and nurses, all specially trained to treat seriously ill children.
Beyond our new Hospital, Phoenix Children’s is building Specialty and Urgent Care Centers in high growth areas across the state. This brings Phoenix Children’s special brand of care closer to home for patients and families throughout the Southwest.
As you read this information piece, I think you’ll agree that the growing pediatric population in the West, the Hospital’s multi-million-dollar expansion, and Phoenix Children’s commitment to world-class programs create a "perfect storm" of opportunity here.
