About Us

MultiCare Health System is a not-for-profit health care organization committed to our mission of partnering for healing and a healthy future. Our 20,000 team members (employees, providers and volunteers) are united by MultiCares values of respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration and kindness.

Our roots date back more than a century to the founding of Tacomas first hospital. Since then, weve grown to become Washington States largest community-based, locally governed health care system with numerous primary care, urgent care and specialty services including Immediate Clinic, MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care, Pulse Heart Institute and MultiCare Rockwood Clinic. Our system of care also includes seven hospitals:

Our Communities

MultiCare headquarters is located in Tacoma, Washington, 31 miles south of Seattle and 140 miles north of Portland, Oregon. Clear views of Mount Rainier and the glistening water of the Puget Sound offer a dramatic backdrop for the ever-changing life of Tacoma (The City of Destiny), Washingtons third largest city, and growing all the time. Tacoma and the surrounding communities are one of the Wests most ecologically diverse areas with an abundance of sea life at its shores and frequent bald eagle sightings in its skies. Home to a magnificent deep-water port, major rail and highway links and offering easy access to a major international airport, the City of Destinya name given to Tacoma by her founding fathers a century agostill rings true today.

Spokane is the second largest city in Washington State and serves as a healthcare and service hub for 1.5 million people in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Western Montana. Spokane (metro population 430k) has a four-season climate, and is close to dozens of lakes and rivers for swimming, boating, rafting, and fishing, as well as mountains for skiing, hiking, and biking. Within a short drive, you'll find 76 lakes and rivers, 33 golf courses, 11 wineries, 5 ski resorts, 5 major national parks, the Columbia River Gorge and the Grand Coulee Dam. Come enjoy the outdoors and our 260 sunny days a year.
