Chickasaw Nation Division of Health
Description of the Chickasaw Nation:
The Chickasaw Nation has multiple departments and the Department of Health is one of those with 1,500 employees. The Chickasaw Nation has over 14,000 total employees with concerns in multiple states and 2 territories. We are not a reservation-based system. Our geographic location is where we establish our businesses and health facilities. American Indians from all 550+ federally recognized tribes and Alaska natives can use our direct services and all eligible patients who live in our 13 county service area qualify for contract health programs.
The Chickasaw Nation Medical Center opened in 2010. This 370,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility has 72 beds, 33 dental chairs and houses new MRI and CT Scanning technology.
The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health is a tribal program consisting of one hospital in Ada and three out-patient satellite health clinics located in Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo, Oklahoma. In Ada our health system facilities include a medical/surgical hospital, outpatient physical therapy, office of environmental health and wellness program facilities which include the Family Life Center available at no charge to all employees and their families. All satellite clinics are within one hour drive of the hospital and refer to specialists in Ada when needed. All of our facilities are Joint Commission accredited; each clinic is surveyed as a part of the system.
The Chickasaw Nation Dept. of Health has allopathic and osteopathic physicians and an optometry clinic staffed with clinical residency-trained optometrists. We have an award-winning Diabetes Program housed in a new Diabetes Center, an audiology department that provides services and hearing aids to our patients and dental services that include general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics and prosthodontics. We work closely with the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and participate in grant projects and research projects such as the Today Program for Childhood Diabetes. We have all ancillary services normally within a hospital. Our pharmacists are all PharmD grads and serve as part of the healthcare team working closely to assist our providers.
Ada is a great place to live and work with a clean, safe atmosphere for your family. Being in central Oklahoma provides excellent access to Tulsa, Okahoma City and Dallas, Texas as well as several lakes where you can enjoy leisure activities and water sports. This is the green hill country of Oklahoma! Ada has many amenities usually associated with larger communities, several excellent school systems ranking in the top 25% of the state and East Central State University – a 4 year state university that also offers graduate programs. Leisure activities include golf, tennis, walking or jogging in Wintersmith Park, using our own Family Life Center at no charge, hunting, boating, fishing and a new Lazer Tag entertainment center. We have a number of restaurants and recognizable brand name stores such as Home Depot and Starbucks.
