With 100 years of service to the Salem County area, Salem Medical Center is committed to continuing its mission of providing quality health care to each and every patient who enters our facility.
In February 2019, SMC transitioned to new ownership and returned to not-for-profit status. This status allows us, for example, to apply for and receive grant monies and to fundraise. As a nonprofit, the hospital is essentially owned by the community —those we work hard to serve every day.
We are guided by a volunteer board, comprised of many local members, with only the best interest of the hospital and community in mind.
In 2020, SMC is undertaking new projects that will allow the facility to continue to grow including the opening of a 26-bed Behavioral Health Unit, a fully digital imaging suite, and our newest service, Vascular Interventional Radiology.
We are dedicated to growing new services and recruiting physicians relevant to our community and are focused on making SMC a destination of choice for Salem County and the surrounding area.New Jersey
