AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach

CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY
AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is a comprehensive, 112-bed acute care community hospital located in Southeast Volusia County, Florida. It is part of the Adventist Health System, the largest Protestant, not-forprofit hospital system in America. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

HISTORY
New Smyrna Beach’s first public hospital opened in 1954. The 20-bed, red brick facility known as Fish Memorial Hospital was established by funding from the Bert Fish Testamentary trust founded by Judge Bert Fish. In April 1974, a new replacement facility opened with 74 beds,16 bassinets, two modern operating rooms, a delivery room, emergency room and a four-bed Intensive Care Unit. Then in 1996, 60,000 square feet of space added a greatly expanded oncology program, a Same Day Surgery suite and other additional services. In April, 2016, Bert Fish Medical Center became part of the Adventist Health System and renamed AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach.
