Benefis Health System

As a community-owned and-governed healthcare organization, Benefis is driven to provide high-quality, low cost care to the residents of northcentral Montana. Benefis serves a 15-county area with more than a quarter of a million people and a land mass bigger than Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont combined.
We are the largest non-governmental employer in Cascade County, with more than 2,600 employees and an annual budget in excess of $350 million a year.
With such a vast service area, meeting the needs of rural families is a critical part of the Benefis mission. When out-of-town families bring a critically ill infant or a cancer patient to Benefis, they stay free in one of our convenient Gift of Life Housing Centers provided by the Benefis Healthcare Foundation.
Benefis is home to the state’s premier programs for bariatrics, cancer care, pulmonary care and stroke treatment, just to name a few areas of excellence. In fact, Benefis was recognized as one of the top 5% of all hospitals in the entire country for quality in 2011, earning the distinction for the sixth time in the last seven years.
Benefis has 500 beds on its two campuses in Great Falls and more than 200 physicians on its medical staff across more than 40 specialties, bringing our patients world-class medical care right here in the heart of Montana. Our growing Benefis Medical Group employs more than 80 providers.
Benefis is a Level II Trauma Center, with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serving the entire state of Montana and beyond.
In 2009, Benefis opened the seven-story South Tower, featuring state-of-the-art, private suites for our Benefis Birth Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Radiology Unit and Heart and Vascular Institute.
2010 saw the opening of the 72,000-square-foot Orthopedic Center of Montana, offering everything from the latest joint replacement technology to sports medicine and outpatient physical therapy all under the same roof. The project is a partnership of Benefis Health System and Great Falls Orthopedic Associates.
That’s just a snapshot of our broad range of services. It’s all about our mission to make comprehensive, high-quality healthcare available to all northcentral Montanans.
