Burien Medical Center
Facility: The experienced, patient-centered 75-person team at Group Health’s Burien Medical Center includes Family Medicine Physicians, Pediatricians, PA’s and ARNP’s. Additionally the clinic includes on-site pharmacists, physical therapists, one on one clinical support staff, and experienced administrative and business office staff. They all work together to ensure high quality, coordinated care for our patients. Burien Medical Center provides the full scope of family care for all ages. Specialty care is provided at Group Health specialty centers in Seattle or other nearby locations. Hospital care provided by Group Health hospitalist teams in local community hospitals, plus Group Health’s state-of-the-art electronic medical record and integrated system help provide for ideal care coordination across the care spectrum. Our Burien clinic serves a low to middle income, racially and ethnically diverse patient population that encompasses all age groups but includes a high percentage of patients over 65.
Community: Once a resort area of summer homes, Burien is now a thriving community of approximately 30,000 near several major thoroughfares. An accessible 20-minute drive from Seattle, Burien is an easy commute to all the cultural and recreational attractions of the city, yet still retains all the charms of a smaller community—including lower cost of living, attractive tree-lined family neighborhoods (many with mountain views), nine parks (two with Puget Sound beaches), numerous independently owned businesses, and plenty of recreational and family activities, including a skate park and several teen and kids programs. Housing choices range across a wide price spectrum from quiet woodsy retreats to elegant homes overlooking Puget Sound and more.
