CentraCare Health System was founded in 1995. It consists of St. Cloud Hospital, a regional medical center, two rural hospitals, 12 clinics, and four long-term care facilities. St. Cloud Hospital is Central Minnesota's largest regional medical center. Licensed for 489 beds, the hospital has been named a "Top 100”Hospital and "Top 100 Heart Hospital" eight times and is a designated Magnet hospital since 2004. It is a Level II Trauma Center with over 55,000 visits/year.
The St. Cloud Hospital has undertaken a multi-phase $225-million construction project of a nine-floor wing featuring new surgery suites, a new ICU, CCU, NICU, future capacity for private rooms and increased parking to open Spring 2012.
