CentraCare - Melrose
CentraCare - Melrose opened its newest addition in 2017. It is comprosed of a 14-bed critical access hospital, clinic, a 75-bed long term care facility, which has a 27-bed Alzheimer's special care unit and a 60-unit independent senior housing. Almost all residents in the care center have a private room. CentraCare- Melrose employs more than 210 people who serve nearly 10,000 residents in and around western Stearns County. CentraCare - Melrose has been designated as a Comprehensive Advanced Life Support hospital by a coalition of Minnesota health care organizations and individuals, relecting a commitment to quality rural emergency medical care.
EPIC is the medical record system. The hospital is financially very strong and ranks in the top 5% of all CAH hospitals in the country on its financial outcomes. The hospital provides services including Emergency care, inpatient care, surgery, births, and Ancillary services Specialists that visit the hospital on a regular basis include: Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, OB/Gyn, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Urology, and Audiology.
The population of Melrose is approximately 3,600. It is a beautiful place to live with nearby lakes. Melrose sits on the banks of the Sauk River and the Lake Wobegon Trail system and the Interstate 94 corridor. It has an excellent public and private Elementary and High School system. Melrose is located in between Alexandria and St. Cloud, MN. It is just a half hour to either city.
Melrose has several large industries such as Melrose Dairy Proteins, Jennie-O Turkey processing, and Stearns Electric Company. Melrose is the host city for the ever expanding Central Minnesota Credit Union. Carsten's Industries is known for manufactoring duck boats for Cabela's sport stores.
