The Chillicothe VA
Medical Center is located 5 miles north of Chillicothe on 308 acres of rural
land once occupied by World War I Camp Sherman - the third largest training
camp in the nation during the First World War. The beautiful campus-style
facility provides acute and chronic mental health services, primary and
secondary medical services, extended care, a wide range of nursing home care
services, and serves as a chronic mental health referral center for other VA
facilities in southern Ohio. An active ambulatory care setting, including
several mental health services, specialty medical services and specialized women
veterans clinics are also available. Patients requiring tertiary medical
services are referred to VA facilities in Cincinnati (105 miles) or Dayton (75
miles).
Chillicothe, Ohio is nestled in the beautiful hills of Ross County. Chillicothe
is blessed with an abundance of historical and recreational opportunities.
There are five state parks within a 30-minute drive. Strong schools and
affordable housing make Chillicothe a great place to live and work. The small
town charm of this city is perfectly complimented by easy access to Columbus,
Dayton, and Cincinnati for those seeking city amenities.
