Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital
In recent news, the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa system is set to transform their downtown campus into San Antonio's first freestanding children’s hospital. The 275-bed, separately licensed facility would be renamed Children's Hospital of San Antonio, slated to be a “Best in Class,” Tier 1, comprehensive children’s hospital. The $135 million project expansion and renovation is on a fast track. Architects have been selected and construction is set to begin October 2012, with a goal of completion 24 months after that.
As the nation’s seventh-largest city, San Antonio’s pediatric population is growing and has increased by more than 18 percent since 2000. In addition, this population is projected to grow by more than 30 percent over the next 20 years.
The city offers a European feel while nestled in the rolling Texas Hill countryside. Fine dining, shopping, nightlife and theater abound within walking distance of the scenic Riverwalk. San Antonio is also home to professional sports, outstanding universities, and outdoor recreation. Whether enjoying downtown loft living or sprawling suburban life, you will enjoy a low cost of living, no state income tax, and progressive tort reform.
