Columbus Junction is a city in Louisa County, Iowa, United States. The population is 2,000.

Columbus Junction is located between the cities of Columbus City and Fredonia. It lies at the confluence of two large rivers, the Iowa and the Cedar. Less than 30 miles from Columbus Junction is Iowa City whose population is over 60,000 residents. Madison, WI with over 200,000 residents is 180 miles away and Chicago is approximately 4 hours from Columbus Junction.

A large Tyson Foods plant is located in the city. Columbus Junction is also home to a historic swinging bridge.

 Columbus Jct. was named in honor of Christopher Columbus. The town sits between two rivers, the Iowa River and the Cedar River. One of the lesser-known tourist attractions in the town is the swinging bridge. It is more colorfully known as Lovers Leap Bridge.

Great River Medical Center is a 378-bed regional, integrated health-care system. The regional center includes state-of-the-art facilities for emergency treatment, acute care and outpatient services. It also is home to the area's first permanent dialysis center, full-service rehabilitation, cancer care centers, and helicopter-transport service.
