Community Health Network
Established in 1956, Indianapolis-based Community Health Network is a leading not-for-profit health system offering convenient access to expert physicians, advanced treatments and leading-edge technology. Community Health Network was rated 11th (and 4th in all the Midwest) in Vertispan’s annual ranking of the 100 most integrated heath networks. Community has also been recognized 8 out of the past 10 years as one of the nation’s Top 100 Most Wired hospitals health systems. On July 1st 2008, Community Health Network celebrated its fifth anniversary of being agency-free in nursing. Meaning that for five years, we have only had Community Health Network nurses working with our physicians to take care of our patients. Community also is known for its successful physician partnerships. We have many physicians in key leadership and governance roles, over 300 physicians invested in joint ventures, and more than 140 employed primary care and specialty physicians serving central Indiana.
Community Hospital East
Community Hospital East is a comprehensive acute care facility with 257 staffed beds. The hospital and its staff have been recognized nationally with numerous awards for clinical excellence and quality improvements. One of Community Hospital East‘s proudest accomplishments was not having any adverse safety events during the mandatory Indiana state reporting program. Community Hospital East, Community Hospital North and their senior management were recognized for being among 100 hospitals making the greatest progress in improving hospital-wide performance over five years consecutive years. Community was the only Indianapolis area healthcare organization to receive that ranking – and only one of three in Indiana. Community Health Network hospitals were honored by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement by being named as a mentor hospital for all 6 of the initiatives in the “Saving 100,000 Lives” campaign. Only 100 hospitals of the 3,103 participating hospitals received the honor of being named a mentor hospital in any of the 6 initiatives. Opened in 1956, Community East is the network's flagship hospital and home for Hook Rehabilitation, Stroke Center of Excellence, Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry, Center for Wound Healing, inpatient hospice and the Center for Interventional Radiology with some of the latest technology available including the Clinac iX linear accelerator. Community East has invested significant resources to ensure access to the latest medical technologies and services, including open MRI, an all-new radiation oncology center, a new emergency room waiting area, additional of concierge services and wireless internet access for patient and staff.
