Family Medicine at Dean Clinic-Barneveld/Dodgeville
Dean Clinic, a 450+ physician multi-specialty group that is headquartered in Madison, WI, is looking for a Family Physician to work at our clinics in Barneveld and Dodgeville. This is a traditional practice, but the practice of Obstetrics is optional. The physicians in this group are based in Dodgeville and cover the clinics in Dodgeville, Barneveld, Mineral Point, and at the Lands End corporate office. Call will be 1 in 8. The Family Physicians provide hospitalist coverage on a rotating basis, which is 1 in 7 weeks.
Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville has been serving the region since 1974. The hospital has 20 acute care beds, three intensive care beds, and five birthing suites. It has roughly 1,000 inpatient admissions, 300 births, 37,000 outpatient visits, and 10,000 emergency room/urgent care visits per year.
Barneveld, population 1500, is a quiet rural community that is located 15 miles east of Dodgeville and 25 miles west of Madison. It offers its residents a peaceful lifestyle while being reasonably close to Madison. Outdoor opportunities are abundant. The community was founded in 1881. There are two theories on the naming of the village. The first came from a Dutch railroad surveyor who named it after his hometown in Holland. The second theory named it after a 19th century poet, Barneveldt.
Dodgeville, population 5,000, is the county seat of Iowa County. The city has a picturesque and charming downtown. Lands End, a well-known clothing retailer, has its corporate headquarters in Dodgeville. It is the largest employer in the region.
