Georgia Regents University (GRU) is located in Augusta, GA. The University hosts the Medical College of Georgia which is the 13th oldest continuously operating medical school in the nation. It is comprised of nine colleges, 10,000 students, and an integrated health system. It consists of the 478-bed Georgia Regents Medical Center, 154-bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia including the region’s only Level IV NICU. There are more than 80 outpatient practice sites in one convenient setting and a Critical Care Center, housing a 13-county regional Level 1 trauma center.
Currently, the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine will have 38 faculty members once positions are filled and an outstanding residency program, critical care fellowship and pain medicine fellowship and also offers clerkship opportunities. The Department of Anesthesiology has multiple specialties which include Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and ICU, Acute Pain Medicine, Chronic Pain Medicine and Pediatric Anesthesia.
