Hannibal is a beautiful community located on the Mississippi River. The community is most well known as the boyhood home of celebrated author Mark Twain and more specifically the setting of his The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. With a population of just under 20,000 Hannibal has more parks per citizen than most towns in the Midwest, and our trail system is growing. Hannibal is a great place to hike or bike. Boaters will find easy access to the Mississippi, as well as local lakes.
