Hill Regional Hospital
is a JCAHO fully accredited 92-bed acute care facility located in central Hill County, Texas, just 60 miles south of Dallas and Fort Worth and 30 miles north of Waco. The hospital serves the county's approximately 35,000 residents. Hill Regional Hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including 24-hour emergency services, a critical care unit, obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cataract and laser surgery, a swing bed facility, Outpatient Surgery Area. Specialized diagnostic care includes: MRI, CT scanner, nuclear medicine, echocardiology, ultrasound, mammography, bone densitometry and comprehensive laboratory services. Other specialized services include: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
THE COMMUNITY
Hillsboro, established in 1853, has always been a major trade route for agriculture and transportation. Today, the community is growing strong with a diverse industrial base, including manufacturing, agriculture, medical, education, tourism, retail and business activity.
All seasons of the year are enjoyable in the Hillsboro area with annual average rainfall of 34.2 inches. Temperatures range from an average low of 34 degrees in January, to an average high of 95 degrees in August.
Hillsboro enjoys the peaceful atmosphere of a rural community with cities like Dallas, Fort Worth and Waco only minutes away. The municipal airport provides easy access to their major airports and the DFW airport is less than an hour's drive.
Hillsboro is proud of its Hill County Courthouse, Hill County Cell Block Museum, MKT Depot, Hillsboro City Library and the Texas Heritage Museum, which houses the Confederate Research Center.
Hillsboro provides education for three-year-olds through community college students. Hillsboro is home to Hill College, a two-year community college which offers a nursing program. Baylor University and Texas State Technical College are both located 30 minutes south in Waco.
Hillsboro is considered the Antique Capital of Interstate 35. One can enjoy dining at any one of the numerous restaurants. There are two city parks and a country club with golf course.
Lake Whitney, with 49,820 acres of blue water, is within 15 minutes of Hillsboro and is perfect for water sports, fishing, camping and hunting.
