Jackson Hospital is a widely-recognized 344-licensed bed medical center. The Emergency Department has a leadership team that clearly recognizes the Emergency Department (ED) as the “front door” to the hospital. The ED Leadership team is committed to making the department the best place for employees to work, physicians to practice medicine, and patients to receive care. This is in perfect alignment with Jackson Hospital’s vision to be “Central Alabama's first choice for healthcare.” Jackson Hospital traces its roots back to the 1894 when Watkin’s Infirmary received its first patients at its present location. In 1946, the hospital opened as a 37 bed medical center with 5 attending physicians. Today, Jackson Hospital provides comprehensive care to Montgomery and the Alabama River Region.
