Community: Magazines such as Fortune and Money rate Pacific Northwest communities among the best places to live in America—and one visit will show you the reason why. From a strong and vibrant arts and theatre community, that includes world-class opera, ballet, and symphony groups, to the excitement of professional baseball, football, soccer, and basketball teams, the Seattle area has something for everyone. Graced with a year-round mild climate and exquisite natural beauty, it’s also a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast, offering an abundance of recreational activities, from sailing on nearby Puget Sound and the region’s many natural inlets to skiing on the slopes of magnificent Mount Rainier. Located midway between Seattle and Tacoma, Kent’s central location makes it easy to sample all the Northwest has to offer: it’s an accessible 30-minutes to Seattle’s night life and many cultural attractions, but it’s also easy daytrip to the incredible natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the Cascades Mountains and spectacular Mount Rainier. Add to that 67 parks on more than 1,400 acres of lush parklands, plenty of shopping and dining amenities, and good schools, and you’ll see that Kent has much to offer among its many attractive neighborhoods and communities—including a weekend farmer’s market, a summer concert series, and numerous seasonal street fairs and festivities.
