Schuylkill County is nestled between the mountains of east-central Pennsylvania in the Coal Country Corridor of the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area, where outdoor recreation, unique attractions, fascinating history and a host of exciting events abound. Schuylkill County is a cultural heritage destination unlike any other. A rich mining boom attracted thousands of immigrants from around the world as the region fueled America’s Industrial Revolution. Among these immigrants was D.G. Yuengling, founder and namesake of America’s Oldest Brewery located in the county’s seat of Pottsville. With easy access to the Poconos and big cities such as Philadelphia and New York City, Schuylkill County offers adventure with less hustle and bustle.
