Los Angeles Metropolitan Region

Los Angeles is known for its comfortable Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, celebrity culture, and film and television industry. Some of the many attractions in LA include the world famous Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Los Angeles is also an excellent city to enjoy professional baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer games. Additionally, three top public state universities in the area attract a diverse population. Los Angeles is just an hour east of the famed Malibu beach, half an hour east of Santa Monica, and half an hour south of the San Fernando Valley.

The upscale Westside is known for its top-restaurants, high-end shopping, and acclaimed cultural attractions. Rodeo Drive, the Grove and Beverly Center are some of the most popular shopping destinations in the area. The affluent Brentwood community includes upscale shops and eateries and surrounds the well-known University of California, Los Angeles. Museum Row features the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Peterson Automotive Museum, the Craft and Folk Art Museum and the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits. In Century City, the Annenberg Space for Photography features a digital projection gallery and a traditional print exhibit area showcasing some of the best photography in the area.
