With an extremely low crime rate, our Northwoods communities are perfect for raising healthy children and supporting old-fashioned family values.

Education is a top priority in Minocqua, with the state of Wisconsin ranking consistently in the top 3 nationally, and our elementary schools ranking higher than state averages. Our children have won or ranked in the top ten in the National Science Foundation Award for Community Innovation numerous times. As a Division I High School, we have the athletic programs and extracurricular activities that come with being a large conference school. Excellent children’s programs at Minocqua Public Library keep little ones learning and exploring. Northwoods Children’s Museum and the YMCA are a 1/2 hour drive.

Artists travel great distances to attend Rhinelander School of the Arts and Dillman's Creative Arts Foundation where nationally known artists teach each summer.

The Lakeland area boasts many award winning restaurants-enough to keep the connoisseur happy all year long. The walkable historic downtown area is filled with shops, art galleries, restaurants and coffeeshops, Minocqua Brewpub, and is also home to the Minocqua-bats Waterski team, which performs throughout the summer.  Timber Ridge, Trout Lake and Minocqua Country club are a few of our beautiful golf courses; and for movie-goers, Lakeland Cinema has six movie screens. Winterpark Ski Chalet is known around the world for their excellent ski instructors and trails.
