McKenzie Regional Hospital a 45-bed facility, is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

  • Specialties represented by physicians on staff at the facility include Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Pathology and Radiology.
  • The facility offers a full range of services including 24-hour emergency care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, childbirth preparatory classes, echocardiography, EEG and EKG, general surgery, holter monitoring, home care services, a family birth center, mammography, midwifery, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory therapy, ultrasound, a wellness center and more.

 

 

Community

  • Originally inhabited by the Chickasaw Indian Tribe, the first settlers started moving into this area during the early 1800s.
  • The town of McKenzie was organized in 1867, when the Nashville and North-western Railroad completed its track and intersected with the Memphis and Ohio Railroad.
  • The town's name was derived from the family who previously owned the land where the railroads crossed.
  • James Monroe McKenzie gave the property to the railroad.
  • The town began to develop rapidly after the tracks were completed and was officially incorporated by the state of Tennessee on January 22, 1869
  • McKenzie is located in an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.
  • Our own Carroll Lake provides a great area for family activities including a picnic area, golf course and of course fishing.
  • Nearby Kentucky Lake, just 30 minutes away, is famous for its fishing and hunting opportunities and often referred to as "The Crappie Fishing Capitol of the World."
