Mitchell County Hospital (33 beds), Mitchell Convalescent Center (48 beds) and Pelham Parkway Nursing Home(108 beds) have been affiliated with John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital since 1990.
The historic Mitchell County Hospital, located in Camilla, Georgia, was built under the leadership of citizens like Lewis Hall Singletary who in 1949 obtained $900,000 in funds from a Congressional bill designed to help build hospitals throughout the United States. The money was matched with $100,000 available from the newly created Mitchell County Hospital Authority. The hospital, which was dedicated by Governor Herman Talmadge, was built on land donated by the City of Camilla.
