Northport Medical Center

Northport is in Tuscaloosa County in the west central part of Alabama. Located on the Black Warrior River across from downtown Tuscaloosa, Northport is the 21st largest city in Alabama with an estimated population of 24,088 as of 2012 and is part of the Tuscaloosa Metropolitan Statistical Area. One of Northport's most notable cultural activities is the Kentuck Festival of the Arts in October of each year. Hundreds of artists gather at Kentuck Park to showcase their work in front of thousands of visitors. With hundreds of artist/exhibitors and thousands of visitors, the festival celebrates folk and contemporary art as well as traditional crafts. Another longstanding Northport tradition is Art Night held on the first Thursday of each month. Many Northport art galleries open their doors after hours for this event and frequently art or craft demonstrations are offered. Dickens Downtown is held the first Tuesday in December, and this annual holiday event attracts many thousands of participants to see the period setting of 19th-century England.
