PCS Health Center is a modern well kept facility with technological upgrades occurring as needed.  PCS Health Center works closely with the regional hospital and shares a residency program with the hospital.  PCS Health Center’s medical and dental programs see on average 7,000 unduplicated clients a year throughout its 11 county service area in western Nebraska.  PCS Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center with funding from the Bureau of Primary Health Care for medical care, dental care, migrant health, behavioral health and diabetes care.  PCS Health Center has several state funded support programs (WIC, Reproductive Health, Minority Health, Diabetes, Immunization, and HIV/HEP C).  PCS Health Center was one of the first community health centers in the nation to participate in the BPHC’s “Diabetes Collaborative” program and has been recognized nationally and regionally for its work on diabetes care.

 

Gering, Nebraksa

Situated on the high plains of western Nebraska, the sister communities of Gering and Scottsbluff have a combined population of 24,000.  Scottsbluff/Gering are 30 miles from the Wyoming border and just 110 miles from Colorado’s front range. The two communities are within four 4 hours of Denver, Colorado, two hours from Cheyenne, Wyoming and four hours from the Black Hills of South Dakota.  A great place for raising a family or retiring.  Local historic attractions include Scottsbluff National Monument, Chimney Rock, Oregon and Mormon Trails and Agate Fossil Beds National Monument.  Anyone liking the restfulness of the high plains but also wanting easy access to mountains and metropolitan life would feel at home in Gering and Scottsbluff.
