Clarksville, Iowa is a progressive Northeast Iowa community located approximately 30 miles northwest of Waterloo/Cedar Falls. Our residents enjoy a small town quality of life, while being only minutes away from all the amenities of the larger cities of Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

Clarksville Community Schools features K-12 on one campus with a modern single story facility.  Clarksville residents are proud of their local school, and have supported it through the years by funding projects to allow the facilities to be expanded and improved, which provides the children with the best education possible.  Area colleges and universities located within 30 minutes are 2 four year colleges and 3 community colleges.

Recreation activities such as golf, swimming, sports, and parks are enjoyed by the residents of Clarksville as are modestly priced family homes.

People's Clinic is located in one of Iowa's larger metropolitan areas with over 130,000 residents. Located 60 minutes from the University of Iowa Clinics and Hospitals, 2 hours from Rochester Minnesota and Mayo Hospital, 2 hours from Des Moines and 4 hours from Chicago.

Waterloo and Cedar Falls are continuous cities located on the banks of the Cedar River in Northeast Iowa and make up the Cedar Valley. Waterloo has a diverse population. Its major industries, including John Deere and Tyson foods, are agriculturally related. Cedar Falls, the "twin city," is home to the University of Northern Iowa.

The two cities offer a variety of high-quality attractions, museums, visual and performing arts; festivals, and events; and many different shopping and dining options.

The University of Northern Iowa has an active performing arts center and symphony hall. The University also boasts a domed athletic complex for Division I and II collegiate sports.

The area supports two community theatres, a renowned regional museum, and an arts and recreation facility.

Parks, tennis, golf, minor league hockey, baseball, and fishing, hiking and camping are available recreational pursuits. The areas have developed an extensive network of bike trails and”chain of lakes” offering extensive water recreational opportunities.

The diversity of the population is reflected in the number of religious facilities. Most Christian faiths are represented. Waterloo also has a synagogue and a mosque.

The University of Northern Iowa is located in Cedar Falls. Hawkeye Community College and an extension branch of Upper Iowa University are also located in Waterloo. Wartburg College is located in Waverly. Within the metropolitan area are public and private primary and secondary schools that are rated among the best in the state.

Already famous for being one of the State's foremost historic towns, Waterloo is introducing a number of redevelopment projects. Major among them is the River Renaissance development that will add a river walk, amphitheater, and art mall to its cultural attractions. Another new feature is Tech Works, which will host an agricultural tourism exhibition center, manufacturing mall, technology center, and a bio-product merchandise mart. These two new facilities will anchor an already thriving downtown that offers a variety of dining opportunities along with unique retail shopping.

The largest employers in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls: John Deere, Covenant Medical Center, Tyson Fresh Meats, the University of Northern Iowa, Allen Hospital, Waterloo Community Schools.

Covenant Medical Center and Allen Memorial are two hospitals located in Waterloo. Covenant Medical Center is a 366-bed, full-service, multi-specialty hospital providing acute, sub-acute and outpatient health care. A full complement of facilities and services are available to support the community's health care needs. Allen Memorial Hospital is a 200+ bed hospital.
