Sanford Clinic Wheaton
Practice Setting: On July 1, 2011 Wheaton Community Hospital and Clinic merged with Sanford Health, officially becoming Sanford Clinic Wheaton and Sanford Wheaton Medical Center. Sanford Wheaton Medical Center, established in 1950, is a 15-bed critical access hospital serving Traverse County Minnesota. Clinic services were added in 2005 and include primary care in addition to specialty outreach. Currently the clinic and hospital employ 95 people.
Community Information: Wheaton, Minnesota, located where Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota meet, is centrally located to allow you to experience the unique geography of the Red River Valley, Continental Divide, and the long-ago melted glacial lake - Lake Agassiz. Wheaton, with a population of 1,600, is located near Lake Traverse, a source of abundant, year-round recreation. The surrounding area offers walleye fishing, small game and deer hunting. Although many of Wheaton's jobs are agricultural in nature, the community hosts countless, successful, entrepreneurial ventures as well. Wheaton's Economic Development Authority supports both large and small businesses and is currently promoting the manufacturing industry. The local public school district offers excellent education programs and features and elementary, middle school and high school.
