The Hospital

Sentara RMH Medical Center is a 238-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. For over 100 years RMH has been delivering advanced medical care to its seven-county service area with a population close to 200,000.

Annual services provided at RMH include over 16,000 inpatients, 1,700 babies delivered, 18,000 surgical procedures, 14,000 cancer treatments and more than 74,000 emergency department visits. In 2010, RMH opened its new, state-of-the-art hospital, located on a 254-acre site overlooking the Massanutten mountain range. This new LEED-Gold certified facility brings the latest in health and wellness to the community.

Sentara RMH Medical Center continues to grow in its rankings among the nation’s "Best Hospitals" with U.S. News & World Report, moving from 15th to 9th in the State.


The Community

Harrisonburg and Rockingham County have an area population of 118,000 and easy access to Interstates 81, 64 and 66. Quality of life is one of the primary factors that draw people to live and work in Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley. Situated between the Allegheny, Blue Ridge and Massanutten mountain ranges, the Valley is an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts, history buffs and those culturally inclined to theatre, art and music.
