SIOUX CENTER HEALTH

The hospital is well suited to serve the health care needs of the Sioux Center and Hull communities in Northwest Iowa.  This is a community owned and operated, non-profit health care organization.  The hospital is a certified 21-bed acute facility including a “swing bed” (skilled nursing) program allowing for continued stay once the patient has been discharged from acute care.   The 24-hour Emergency Room is highly prepared with a level four-trauma rating.  We have in-house radiology and three general surgeons on staff.  The Hospital’s Outpatient Specialty Clinics include ENT, Cardiology, Orthopedics, along with 21 other specialists, saving patients travel time and expense.  There are two newly remodeled birthing rooms available in the family centered obstetrics department.   Our new long-term care nursing facility provides intermediate care services and is certified by Medicare and Medicaid for reimbursement.  Sioux Center Health also operates a early childhood center that serves 150 children a day.  Find out more about the services of the hospital on our web page at www.siouxcenterhealth.org.

The Sioux Center Health is part of the Avera network, a regional family of more than 100 health care facilities in the five-state region of Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota.  Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is the regional referral center for the clinic.     

THE COMMUNITY

Sioux Center, a community of over 6,500 people, has grown 18% in population in the last 10 years.  Hull’s population is over 2,000 with a 13% growth rate in the last 10 years.   The people of Hull and Sioux Center are friendly, charitable, cooperative and community-minded.  They choose to live and educate their children in a wholesome, Christian environment.  Within the cities are active churches, excellent public and private schools, vibrant businesses operated by friendly and caring business people, and great recreational facilities including golf courses, parks, state-of-the-art playgrounds, swimming pools, walking and bike trails, new libraries and more.  Dordt College is a four-year accredited liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students.
