One of the city's prime cultural attractions, the Historical Museum, has more than 20 rooms filled with valuable antiques and unique artwork. This community likes to celebrate! There is a festival in the spring to celebrate a famous playwright born here, a weeklong community festival in the fall along with a pumpkin patch and corn maze that can really help get you into the autumn state of mind. The city decorates the downtown area with Christmas lights and has a holiday open house and parade. The community is part of an appreciation tour that recognizes veterans.
This community is conveniently located in Southeast Kansas, within driving distance of Wichita and Kansas City.
