St. Francis Hospital

St. Francis Hospital is a prestigious general hospital and cardiac referral institution that offers state-of-the-art medical care in a very attractive professional practice environment. It is a physically beautiful, strong and financially successful hospital with a remarkable Medical Staff dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. The hospital has an enviable national reputation. We are currently the only general hospital in New York State ranked 5 stars by CMS. For the twelfth consecutive year, US News and World Report has ranked St. Francis as one of the Best Hospitals in the nation for cardiac care, ranking as the best hospital on Long Island and the 5th in New York State.  The Hospital was the only hospital nationally ranked in 4 adult specialties in Long Island.  In March of 2012, Consumers Reports rated St. Francis the safest hospital in the New York metropolitan area. St Francis was re-designated for the fourth time as a nursing Magnet Hospital, and is one of only six hospitals in the country to achieve the American Nurses Association NDNQI award for outstanding nursing quality. Patient Satisfaction Scores have been among the best in the country.

The hospital serves as a high level referral center, and has advanced procedural capabilities in numerous specialties in addition to cardiology. With only two exceptions, St. Francis has all medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties readily available, and our 24/7 in house intensivist program collaborates actively with the Emergency Department to take extraordinary care of our sickest patients. The hospital has no obstetrics or gynecology, and limited pediatrics, and standing agreements with partner hospitals permit the easy transfer of patients needing these services.

Location:

The hospital, located in Roslyn, New York, is ten minutes north of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 36 (Searingtown Road). Travel time is only 30 minutes from Manhattan. A completely new Emergency Department opened in December of 2012 and an Emergency Department Information System (EPIC ASAP) with voice recognition transcription has been fully implemented.
