The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano is the first and only freestanding hospital in Collin County dedicated solely to heart and vascular health care. The $134 million, 116-bed hospital opened January 2007 and has been designed to maximize the delivery of safe, quality, compassionate health care.
The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano was created through a partnership between Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and 86 cardiovascular physicians and surgeons practicing in North Texas. The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano is licensed as a general acute care hospital providing inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care.
Plano, TX is located mostly within Collin County. The city's population was 269,776 at the 2010 census, making it the ninth most populous city in the state of Texas and the 70th most populous city in the United States. Plano is located within the metropolitan area commonly referred to as the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.
In January 2004, CNN Money designated Plano its top place to live in the Western United States (cities over 100,000). This clearly substantiated by Plano's citizens, who in a February 2004 survey ranked Plano as "the best, or one of the best places to live".
