United Community Health Center is dedicated to impact the lives of the community through increased access to health care, the reduction and elimination of barriers to care, a continuum of care for the medically underserved - all resulting in a healthier community.

COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION
The City of Storm Lake (population 10,000) is the Buena Vista County seat and is located in picturesque Northwest Iowa. Storm Lake is within easy driving distance of metropolitan areas like Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis, and Kansas City. The county is served by an excellent telecommunications infrastructure. A sound economic base is comprised of manufacturing, education, health and social services, and retail trade.

Storm Lake has a public school system which includes four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Private schools include St. Mary's elementary, middle and high school and Concordia Lutheran elementary school. In 1997, Storm Lake High School was name a First in the Nation in Education (FINE) School. Iowa Central Community College offers a full range of community college programs. Buena Vista University is a four year private college that can boast of being the first totally wireless campus in the nation.

The fourth largest natural lake in Iowa is located in Storm Lake. The opportunity for outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, hiking and biking. A $30 million community project is underway to construct a 100-room lakefront lodge, lakeshore cabins, a large open park area, an indoor-outdoor aquatic center an public beach. The lodge an aquatic center opened in July 2007. Buena Vista University brings an exceptional variety of speakers and cultural events to the area.
