Organization/Facilities - A Regional Health System
United Health Services (UHS) Hospitals is a family of health services organizations that exists to improve the health of the communities we serve by developing and maintaining a comprehensive and cost-effective health care system. We are a not-for-profit organization, operated for the public benefit. Formed in 1981 through the consolidation of three community hospitals, UHS employs more than 5,000 people. As a teaching hospital, we train over 70 physicians per year in residency and fellowship programs. Each of the member organizations part of UHS are owned by the community it serves, and each organization is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors composed of local citizens:

The UHS Medical Group is a professional corporation and multi-specialty group medical practice consisting of over 150 practitioners. The group is affiliated with UHS, the community’s regional leader in healthcare. The physicians and other providers encompass a number of medical and surgical specialties at locations throughout Broome, Chenango, Otsego and Tioga Counties.
