Washington Corrections Center (WCC) is located on a 400 acre site 35 miles west of Olympia, the state capital. The facility has seven living units and houses 1,300 offenders. WCC is the Reception and Diagnostic Center, a close-custody facility with the primary responsibility to process, test, and classify all adult male felons sentenced to prison in Washington State. Approximately 500 patients are screened and assessed each month. WCC is also the major hub for transfer of offenders to and from facilities throughout the state.
There are 83 Health Services employees providing outpatient medical, mental health care, inpatient medical and dental care. WCC health services staff are instrumental in ensuring that the health care of each offender continues as they move through the criminal justice system. This facility also has a major public health role in the prevention, early identification and treatment of infectious disease. If you enjoy a rapid pace; this is the facility for you.
