Beaumont Behavioral Health, a NEW 144-bed facility, will provide a full continuum of inpatient behavioral health services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility will provide a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.  Our new facility will serve children/adolescents, age 4-17, as well as adults, and senior adults.

A partnership between Beaumont Health and Universal Health Services, Beaumont Behavioral Health will address the growing, currently unmet need for accessible, high-quality behavioral health services in Southeast Michigan and surrounding communities.

Beaumont Health and UHS are striving to provide patients and their loved ones with compassionate and high quality mental health care, services and support.  This new facility will provide much-needed services for our communities.  Our new campus will be the ‘hub’ from which we will coordinate all inpatient and day program mental health care, clinical training and innovative new approaches to care.

Beaumont Behavioral Health will:

  • double Beaumont’s current capacity for inpatient mental health care;
  • provide highly specialized academic training programs, including the addition of Beaumont graduate medical education programs in psychiatry, psychopharmacology and other clinical training opportunities;
  • offer enhanced and expanded intensive day programs;
  • leverage the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, internal medicine physicians, other specialists, clinical pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, therapists and other clinical support staff; and
  • include an integrated assessment and referral center to support the community and Beaumont Health Emergency Centers.

Over the next two years, inpatient mental health services across Beaumont Health will consolidate at this location, serving pediatric through adult patients.
