The Beaver County Hospital Authority (BCHA) provides a wide variety of healthcare services to the citizens of Beaver County and the surrounding areas, from pediatrics to geriatrics. BCHA is a public trust governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees consists of five members who are appointed by the County Commissioners. The BCHA encompasses the Beaver County Memorial Hospital, Beaver County Nursing Home, Community Pharmacy and the Community Clinic of Beaver and Turpin. The Beaver County Memorial Hospital operates the Beaver County Emergency Medical Service. The Beaver County Hospital Authority is one of the largest employers in the county at approximately 130 employees. The Beaver County Memorial Hospital (built in 1953) is a 24-bed critical access hospital. Services offered include inpatient, swing bed, outpatient, emergency room , laboratory, radiology, CT, physical therapy, Holter monitoring and telemedicine. BCMH is an affiliate hospital of SSM Health St. Anthony’s in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
We currently have one employed physician that specializes in family practice. He announced his retirement in April 2018 and has been gracious enough to continue his practice on a part-time basis as we continue recruiting for a physician. He along with three midlevel providers (APRN-CNP’s) make up our on-site medical staff. The Beaver County Nursing Home is a 62-bed long term care facility with a current census of 35. The Community Pharmacy is the only retail pharmacy in the county. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and is located within the hospital. The Community Clinics of Beaver and Turpin are designated as rural health clinics. The Turpin Clinic is approximately 25 miles from the town of Beaver and the Beaver clinic is located directly across the street from the hospital. Both facilities operate from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Turpin Clinic is closed on Fridays effective October 1st. The average number of office visits per year for Turpin Clinic is approximately 1,400 and Beaver Clinic at approximately 5,400. The Beaver County Emergency Medical Service is a basic volunteer service and is the sole ambulance service for Beaver County. The service has one unit located in Forgan, Oklahoma and two units in Beaver located directly across the street from the emergency room entrance. The service is also equipped with a Dodge Durango that serves as a first responder vehicle and a multipurpose Polaris Ranger rescue vehicle. EMS averages approximately 225 visits per year.
BCHA has had a strong relationship with SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in OKC since 2009. Our providers pro-vide services for all of the above listed facilities. We currently provide weekend relief coverage for our local providers with locum tenens physicians. We also offer tele-hospitalist services through our relationship with Sound Physicians.
