Also considered among the best in the state, Janesville's public school system includes two high schools, three middle schools, 12 elementary schools; and there are 11 private schools in the area. There are over ten religious denominations represented, with a total of 50 churches in the community.

When it comes to recreation, Janesville is considered one of the state's best-kept secrets. Boasting more that 1,900 acres of parkland lining the banks of the Rock River, Janesville is full of year-round water opportunities. Over 65 physicians are on staff at Riverview Clinic and over 30 specialties are represented. Attached to the clinic is the St. Marys Dean Venture Riverview Surgery Center. The center has four operating rooms, skilled OR and recovery room staff, and MD Anesthesiologists. We are a multi-specialty surgery center with state-of-the-art equipment and multiple resources within the Dean Health System.

All hospital admissions are handled at Mercy Hospital, a JCAHO accredited 256-bed facility adjoining the clinic. Also on-site are dialysis, blood bank, home care, in-/out-patient surgical care, laboratory, radiology and organ bank services; and complete physical and occupational therapy, and communicative disorders departments. Specialty services include cardiology, gynecology, neurosurgery, neurology, obstetrics, orthopedics, psychiatry, oncology, pulmonology and urology.
