Pikeville Medical Center Logo Pikeville is the county seat of Pike County, Kentucky and as of the 2010 U.S. Census had a city and suburb population of 8,609. Established in the 1820s, the city has a colorful past that includes hosting part of the infamous Hatfield-McCoy feud. Today, Pikeville annually hosts Hillbilly Days, an annual festival held in mid-April to celebrate the best of Appalachian culture. The event is now the second largest festival held in the state of Kentucky. Artists and craftspeople showcase their talents and sell their work while nationally renowned musicians and regional mountain musicians share six stages located throughout the downtown area.
