Plantation General Hospital 1 Logo Plantation General Hospital (PGH) is a full-service facility that has been providing a range of healthcare services to residents of Plantation and Central Broward County for 45 years. It is an HCA East Florida facility.  PGH has nationally recognized centers of excellence in maternity, high risk maternity, pediatrics, pediatric intensive care and the Level III neonatal intensive care have earned PPGH a distinguished reputation for quality. This NICU is one of the top units in the United States and is to be the only hospital in Florida to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for its Prematurity Program.  The 31-bed unit offers Level III care and there is a Level II progressive care unit for more stable babies. The Level II unit assists parents with discharge planning and education designated to help them care for their newborns.  The unit is 19 years old but HCA is planning a new hospital campus in 2016.  There are 2500 deliveries annually, with about 400 admissions to the NICU and an average daily census of 23-25.  The NICU has jets, oscillators, nitric and cooling, no ECMO.  Currently the practice is 7 physicians, growing to 9 FTEs this year.  PGH uses the most advanced pharmacy safety measures and has a dedicated infant/pediatric pharmacy staffed by trained pediatric pharmacists.
