Raleigh General Hospital

The incoming candidate will work at Raleigh General Hospital (RGH), a licensed 369-bed medical center with an average 200-inpatient census. RGH has been in the community for over 85 years. In summer of 2007, RGH will complete a 20 Million Dollar renovation project to upgrade and enlarge the OR space which will include overhead state of the art equipment. Currently, RGH has 7 OR suites and a 12-bed ICU with 3 pulmonary critical care physicians that cover. The ED had about 50k visits last year and is a designated level IV trauma center. There are 14 emergency medicine physicians and the ED is triple covered 24/7. There are 5 radiologists with 24/7 coverage. RGH has a single, 8 and 16 slice CT, PET/CT with plans to get a 64-slice CT. RGH has open and closed MRI, Nuclear medicine, Ultrasound and Mammography. There is a group of 4 anesthesiologists and 7 CRNA’s. There is also a newly renovated Endoscopy area with 4 suites.
