Sierra Providence East Medical Center opened in May 2008 to serve the needs of east El Paso's growing community. This JCAHO accredited facility is equipped with 110-beds and has 12 Intensive Care Unit beds, six Neonatal Intensive Care beds, and a 20-bed Emergency Department. At the Birthing Center families have access to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 10-bed Labor and Delivery Unit, C-section rooms and Parents’ Sleep Room. Surgical Services feature six operating rooms, four endoscopy rooms and a Pre-Operative Testing Center. Our Emergency Services offers cardiac and invasive monitoring and the staff uses protocols for effective care, such as rapid administration of therapies including thromboplasminogen activator (TPA) for patients with heart attach symptoms.  Sierra Providence East Medical Center is part of the Sierra Providence Health Network that has been providing advanced health care services to El Paso and the outlying communities of west Texas, southern New Mexico and our international neighbors in northern Mexico for more than 50 years.
