Our Mission St. Mary's Health Center opened in 1905 as part of the faith-based healing ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary. From just 38 patient rooms, the city's first hospital has grown to 167 beds, with numerous expansions and renovations through the years. Today, nearly 1,300 employees and affiliated physicians carry on the mission.... through our exceptional health care services, we reveal the healing presence of God. Our 250-member medical staff has developed an excellent reputation for compassionate and exceptional patient care. Services offered include: cardiovascular, cancer, musculoskeletal, outpatient surgery, emergency, maternal and child health, a hospitalist program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health. Our primary care network, consisting of family medicine physicians and pediatricians, provide services in multiple surrounding counties.
New Replacement Hospital St. Mary's plans to break ground for a new replacement hospital on 110-acres of rolling hills off Hwy 179 in Jefferson City. The $200 million project will include a full-service hospital with 167 all-private patient rooms. It will be larger than the current hospital by more than 105,000 square feet, and will be joined by medical office buildings and other health-care related complementary facilities in the future.
