Serving Southwestern Connecticut and Westchester County, New York, St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a modern, 397-bed, acute care hospital offering more than 50 specialty and subspecialty medical and surgical disciplines and a full range of inpatient and outpatient services.

 

Centers of excellence comprise cardiovascular disease, including angioplasty and coronary artery bypass surgery; cancer care; surgery; orthopaedics; diagnostics; women’s and family services; bariatrics; behavioral health, senior health and an array of specialized services.  With one of the largest angioplasty programs in New England, St. Vincent’s implemented in 1995 a PAMI (primary angioplasty for myocardial infarction) program that assures the availability of emergency angioplasty within one hour, 24-hours a day.  St. Vincent’s also recently became certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

 

Affiliated with two medical schools – University of Connecticut, School of Medicine and New York Medical College – St. Vincent’s participates in international research programs.  It is one of a select few acute care hospitals in the United States ever to receive Accreditation with Commendation twice (1993-96, 1996-99) from JCAHO.  St. Vincent’s has been designated #1 in Fairfield County for cardiac care by HealthGrades in 2007, including angioplasty and open heart surgery.  Five-Star rated for the second consecutive year in cardiac interventions and the recipient of the HealthGrades 2007 Cardiac Care Excellence Award for outstanding clinical outcomes and quality cardiac care, St. Vincent’s is an excellent partner in health care.
