With an ED volume of 10,500, Taylor Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department treats patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing emergency medical care for those who are sick and injured in Pulaski and surrounding counties. We are a Level III Trauma unit, offering top quality care for those in need. A team of highly qualified physicians and experienced Emergency/Critical Care nurses is supported by Orthopedic and General Surgical Services, as well as an Intensive Care Unit. Bleckley Memorial contracts with Envision Physician Services to provide emergency room physician coverage.
Hawkinsville is home to numerous cultural attractions, including one of the largest harness racing training facilities in the country. The town has had a long history of horse racing, and celebrates the Hawkinsville Harness Horse Festival every spring. There are six entries on the National Register of Historic Places from Pulaski County: the Hawkinsville Opera House, the Pulaski County Courthouse, Taylor Hall, Merritt-Ragan House, St. Thomas AME Church and the Hawkinsville Commercial and Industrial Historic District. Among the community’s most distinct features is the Ocmulgee River, which bisects the county and runs through the middle of the City.
