The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center is focused on bringing together high quality primary care provider to deliver exceptional care and services to the underserved in our community. GNBCHC, is seeking a BC Pediatric Physician to join our team in New Bedford, MA.
This is a Medical Director opportunity.
The Medical Director will join the Pediatric Department within the community health center where they will be a critical part of the clinical leadership team and actively practice alongside a talented group of clinicians whose mission is to provide comprehensive, integrated health care and support services to persons who are experiencing healthcare issues, and to improve the quality of care for vulnerable populations through community collaborations, leadership, and advocacy.
Responsibilities & Duties:
The Medical Director will be responsible for the coordination, delivery, and supervision of primary medical care services in the Pediatric department at the Center. They will be responsible for providing direct outpatient primary patient care to pediatric patients ages 0-18; including but not limited to, patient assessments, physical examinations, ordering/performing necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests, proficiency testing, and prescribing and dispensing medications in compliance with established medical protocols. Utilizing the guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the physician will be a critical part of our talented group of clinicians whose mission is to provide comprehensive, integrated health care and support services to a diverse population of medically complex and at risk pediatric patients.
He/she will participate in the planning, development, and coordination of clinical health care programs to meet community health care needs for a medically complex and at-risk population in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
They will establish and maintain standards of patient care and serve as a member of the Leadership Team.
